Christo and Melissa along with their children served to provide emergency medicine and critical care in South Asia.

Dr. Christo Philip and his wife Melissa served at Duncan Hospital in Raxaul, Bihar, India. They have eight children, Karuna, Luke, Vivek, Myra, Micah, Caleb, Emilio and Priyanka. Dr. Philip received his MD from the Mayo Clinic and did his specialization in emergency medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He was on faculty at UT Southwestern for several years until 2013 when they moved their family to India. Dr. Philip managed the intensive care unit and emergency department at Duncan Hospital, a 230-bedded hospital on the Indo-Nepal border. Melissa has a BA in English and Communication Studies from University of Nebraska - Lincoln. She has worked as an educator for primary and secondary school age children before continuing as a homeschooling mom of eight children for the past 11 years. They currently reside in the US where Dr. Philip works as an emergency medicine physician.
