If you are a family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine or pediatrics residency faculty interested in using your teaching, research and residency administrative gifts to work short or long-term in mission hospitals in Africa, CAAP wants you!
CAAP supports Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine residency programs in African mission/church hospitals for African Christian physicians who will live out the Gospel in Africa.
CAAP Core Activities:
- Curriculum Development
- Clinical Curricula:
- Online repository of vetted curricula sources.
- Outpatient care diploma course for medical officers/GP's
- Spiritual Curricula provided in an online repository.
- Program Consultation and Faculty Development
- Site visits to assess and assist development of quality of clinical and spiritual mentorship.
- Provide faculty development resources through online and in-person seminars.
- Facilitate Short-term Teaching Trips
- Visiting consultants will supplement local resources to provide didactic and/or clinical teaching to residency faculty and African resident physicians.
- Public Health and Community Medicine Training
- Provide modular, on-line training for within program curricula or full Master's degree.
- Networking African Primary Care Programs:
- Encourage one another and share ideas
- Resident and faculty exchanges.
- Recruiting and Preparing Primary Care Faculty
- Create a presence where Christian primary care clinicians can meet and be supported as they prepare for academic service.
